Namji Steinemann
This is Namji Steinemann with the East-West Center, a public research and education organization founded by the US Congress in 1960 and headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii.
I am developing a global exchange and youth leadership development program that will train teachers and youth leaders to use new technologies and through themed projects to engage youth and others in their local communities about water awareness and water conservation while also connecting this learning to issues of health, food security, and women and girls. We plan to work with schools and youth centers in the United States and four countries in Asia. One of the countries we are considering is Mongolia, so I am trying to connect with serving Peace Corps volunteers who are working in or with schools and youth centers in Mongolia to help us identify schools/youth centers we might involve in our project.
Local teachers and youth leader participants who emerge as effective leaders in conducting project outreach and engaging youth will travel to Honolulu for a face-to-face exchange with their American counterparts. In addition, project funds will be made available to overseas groups to hire local trainers/facilitators and to purchase software or equipment, such as digital cameras, flip-cams, webcams, etc.
As I think this project would enhance the work of Peace Corps Mongolia and would be of interest to serving volunteers, I hope that I can rely on your help to forward this message to your daughter for her to share with other Peace Corps volunteers in Mongolia.
Thank you,
Namji Steinemann
